Cell Phones For Soldiers

We would like to let everyone know that there will be a Cell Phones for Soldiers Collection Drive at upcoming meetings.  Even if you are not attending, you can help.

We will be collecting old cell phones (any style—any condition—with or w/o accessories—yours and those of friends/family).  These old cell phones will be recycled through CPFS.  The monies generated from this process are converted to Calling Cards that are handed out to our Troops.  You can imagine how wonderful this project is and what it means for our Military to be able to call home!  You can help by bringing your old cell phone or sending it with someone who will be at the meeting.  We will have a box.  We will count them, pack them, and ship them for you.  Easy.

In advance of donating your cell phone, you may wish to eliminate personal data.  If you have interest in erasing old data, this web site has instructions on how to purge any lingering data:  http://www.recellular.com/recycling/data_eraser/default.asp

An alternative is to take the phone to a vendor where they can easily erase the data and then you can bring the phone(s) to our meeting.

This easy housecleaning project will help our Troops stay connected with their loved ones while deployed.  Please plan on bringing your old cell phones to the October meeting.

Thank you.

MRWC member and NFRW CPFS Chairman
